Created in 1988 thanks to the coming together of Maison Dourthe’s oenologists, Denis Dubourdieu and partner wine-growers, N°1 is above all the result of team work and a group of people who are passionate about wine. The selection of the best plots, impeccable grape quality, meticulous vinification for white and rosé wines, and 12-month ageing in new French oak barrels for red, produces an outstanding result acclaimed by the press and professionals as the reference for affordable fine Bordeaux wines for more than 30 years. For enthusiasts of Bordeaux’s iconic appellations, the N°1 range has been expanded more recently from Médoc to Saint-Emilion, to offer affordable and consistent high-quality wines on a par with the greatest names.
