A project born by the business relationship between Michel Chapoutier and Tony Terlato that has evolved over the years into a close friendship and a family relationship. In 1998 Michel discovers an area in the Australian Pyrenees and calls Tony to be his partner in the wine productions. The soon after formed Terlato & Chapoutier joint venture (1998) produces the first vintage of ‘lieu dit Malakoff Shiraz’ in year 2004 and enjoys a great success - a brand envisioned to be of great importance among the wines from Australia, where the joint venture currently owns three estates.
